Cold Foam Recipe

Cold Foam recipe poured onto an iced drink.

Make it at home! This Cold Foam Recipe is perfect for topping iced coffee or tea, shakes, and flavored milk. Four ingredients are all you need: heavy cream, milk, sweetener, and vanilla. Plus, it can be made dairy-free. Lightly sweetened, velvety, and plush!

If you've ever ordered a specialty coffee at a coffeehouse, you are familiar with the steamed milk foam on top of hot coffee drinks. It's delicious!

Cold foam is the equivalent foamy topping for iced coffee drinks. It's light, silky, and whips up quickly. And the good news? You can totally make this at home in your own kitchen with just four ingredients.

A few tips to make the most delicious cold foam:

  • Use a liquid sweetener such as homemade simple syrup (regular or sugar-free) or maple syrup. Granulated sweeteners can sometimes not completely dissolve and leave a gritty texture.
  • Heavy whipping cream is going to give you the best result. If you are dairy-free, look for non-dairy whipping cream options at Trader Joe's or Sprouts.
  • Whisk the cream until it is just thickened and is still pourable. If you froth it too long, it will become whipped cream. Not a bad thing, mind you, but it is a different outcome.

Pour this cold foam on top of your iced drink and enjoy as you sip away. It's truly luxurious! Try it on an Iced Matcha Latte.
