Korean Banana Milk

Korean Banana Milk

Banana milk poured into glass.

Creamy and delicious, this homemade Korean Banana Milk has just the right amount of sweetness and is easy to make! Made with banana, any kind of milk, and your favorite liquid sweetener, this one is so fab over ice or stirred into coffee drinks.

Korean banana milk is a fruity beverage that is popular in South Korea. Binggrae is a popular brand that has been around since the 1970s, and many Koreans find its a nostalgic taste that reminds them of their childhood.

I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, but a quick glance at the ingredient list of prepared banana milks made me NOT want to drink it any time soon: milk, water, sugar, dextrin, banana juice concentrate, artificial flavors, mono- and diglycerides, carrageenan, annatto, and guar gum.

No, thank you!

This easy recipe for banana milk contains a real banana, your favorite milk, water, and a sweetener of your choice. That's it!

While it is super delicious on its own, warm or cold, I love it over ice and topped with my homemade Dalgona Coffee. Such a treat!

Lessons Learned

  • It's best to use a ripe banana for the most banana-y flavor. A few brown dots on the peel are perfect!
  • Need this to be dairy-free? Same. I love unsweetened almond milk, but use whatever you like.
  • Want this to be sugar-free? I have an easy sugar-free simple syrup recipe that is perfect to add.
