Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

Earthy, grassy green tea is paired with sweet, fruity cold foam in this Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte! It's a deliciously cool combination perfect for a warm afternoon.
For those who haven't had matcha, the Japanese green tea, it is a slightly grassy tea that is made from special shade-grown tea leaves. The growing process causes the plant to produce extra chlorophyll, the element that makes it super duper green. It also produces more antioxidants in the resulting tea.
Ceremonial-grade matcha is a high-quality tea made from the youngest leaves that are dried flat and finely ground into powder.
To make the tea, sift the powder into a bowl, add a small amount of warm water, and whisk to combine. Add more water and whisk again for a full cup of tea. I find it makes for a vibrant tea that isn't bitter but earthy and slightly nutty. It truly is delicious as is, but it is also good paired with milk, like in this latte.

Topping this drink is a fun and fruity cold foam. It's just berries, cream, milk, and vanilla. Everything gets blitzed together and poured over the matcha latte. Isn't that so easy? I've used fresh strawberries here, but it is equally good with blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries.
And that pretty pink strawberry dust? Freeze-dried strawberries grated on top!

Lessons Learned
- Use whatever cream and milk you prefer! Both dairy and non-dairy work great.
- Most drinks at coffee shops are too sweet for my taste. This recipe lists sweetener as optional, but it might not be that way for you. Add however much you need for it to taste good to you!
- Strawberry cold foam is a delicious topper for any drink, hot or cold. I think it'd be great on my warm Earl Grey Latte with Gin or a cool glass of Korean banana milk!
