Latte:
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder, ceremonial grade preferred
- 2 Tablespoons warm or room temp water
- 1 teaspoon sweetener, any kind (optional)
- ice cubes
- 1 cup milk, any kind
Strawberry Cold Foam:
- 3 medium strawberries, trimmed and cut in half
- 3 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream, regular or non-dairy
- 1 Tablespoon milk, any kind
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish: fresh or freeze-dried strawberry
Instructions
- Sieve the matcha through a fine mesh strainer into a small cup, breaking up any lumps. Tip in the water and sweetener (if using). Whisk with a bamboo matcha whisk or a handheld frother until smooth and velvety.
- Add ice cubes to fill a glass halfway, then add the milk. Pour the matcha in a slow circle over the milk.
- Throw the strawberries, cream, milk, and vanilla into a small blender (like a Magic Bullet) and blitz until combined and slightly thick. Pour or spoon mixture over the latte.
- Garnish with fresh strawberry, or microplane a freeze-dried strawberry for some pretty pink strawberry dust to top your drink.
