Peach Salsa

Juicy, savory, sweet, and spicy! Peach Salsa is a perfect sweet-hot garnish to enjoy with tacos, grilled meats, and fish. Just ripe peaches, tomato, jalapeno, red onion, cilantro, and lime! Delish with crispy tortilla chips!
Mexican-style salsa is typically made with vegetables like tomato, onion, tomatillos, chili peppers, and other savory ingredients. It can even be made with pickles, like in this Dill Pickle Salsa (which, by the way, is absolutely addicting!).
But fruit salsas are a whole other story! They can veer into the sweet dessert category, like in my Cinnamon Chips with Fruit Salsa, or they are spicy and savory, eaten with your favorite tacos and meats. Today's fruit salsa is a savory one and is made with fresh, ripe peaches.

While the peaches bring the sweetness, jalapenos bring the heat! It really is a delicious pairing. And if your peaches are ripe, you will be able to easily peel off their thin, fuzzy skins without blanching them in a hot water bath. This might vary depending on the peach variety you use.
Another savory fruit salsa to try: Pineapple Salsa! It is bright and delish.
Lessons Learned
- I've made this salsa with nectarines, and it worked very well. I did not peel them since nectarine skins are smooth and edible, but you can peel them if desired.
- Adjust the amount and kind of peppers to your taste! This salsa is also delicious made with serranos (hotter) and habaneros (very hot!).
- Fresh cilantro is a must. If you have issues with cilantro going bad quickly and turning slimy and liquid brown in your veggie drawer, please watch my YouTube video on how to keep it fresh.
