Earl Grey Latte with Gin

Earl Grey Latte with Gin

Earl Grey latte cocktail.

A comforting, warm tea drinkie, the Earl Grey Latte with Gin is so sublime! This slightly citrusy and slightly floral, low-alcohol cocktail has just a splash of dry gin to complement the tea's bitter notes.

Earl Grey Latte is sometimes called a London Fog. It is comprised of strongly brewed Earl Grey tea, milk or cream, and sweetener. Sometimes vanilla syrup or lavender syrup is added to make it extra luxurious.

And to make it even more indulgent, a tiny bit of London dry gin is tipped in, complementing the citrus and herbal notes of the tea.

Lessons Learned

  • The Earl Grey should be a strongly brewed tea so it's flavor isn't lost with the addition of cream. I use two tea bags. And yes, they can be decaf, if you need! Still yummy!
  • Can't do heavy cream? Oat milk makes a nice creamy backdrop instead of dairy milks.
  • Citrusy treats that are excellent with this: Grapefruit Olive Oil Cake, Coconut Lime Zucchini Bread, and Preserved Lemon Loaf Cake.

Hat Tips

Many thanks to the cafe in Austin, Texas where I had my first London Fog latte (without alcohol) and to Gimme Some Oven for the London Fog Latte recipe which I adapted.
