Description

Deliciously cool and pretty to look at, Iced Matcha Latte brings the coffeehouse vibes without the coffeehouse price tag! Easy to make with matcha powder, your favorite milk, and a simple vanilla cold foam spooned on top, this is a drink you can enjoy from the comfort of home.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Latte:

  • 1 teaspoon matcha tea powder (ceremonial grade preferred)
  • 2 Tablespoons warm or room temp water
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cup milk, any kind

Vanilla Cold Foam:

  • 3 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream, regular or non-dairy
  • 2 Tablespoons milk, any kind
  • 1 Tablespoon sweetener (simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Sieve the matcha through a fine mesh strainer into a small cup. Tip in the water and whisk with a bamboo matcha whisk or a handheld frother until thoroughly combined and no lumps remain. The mixture should be velvety smooth.
  2. Add ice cubes to fill half the glass. Pour in milk. Slowly pour in matcha in a circle over the milk.
  3. Make the cold foam by combining the heavy cream, milk, sweetener, and vanilla in a mug or shaker. Whisk with a handheld frother until the mixture gets foamy and starts to thicken.
  4. Pour or spoon the foam over the latte. Use the sieve to sprinkle on additional matcha as a garnish, if desired.
